As you may know, I am currently recording my debut album which has operatic, Celtic and ambient influences. To create a really organic feel to the album I have put together a team of very talented musicians, most recently I was working with Alexander Verster who is a very gifted double bass player. Alexander is originally from New Zealand now living in the big smoke! He followed his musical passion and studied Classical Double Bass at Trinity Laban Music Conservatoire in the heart of London. I am very proud to have him play on my album!
It seems that I now have another New Zealand connection for my album! The first being with Dermot Crehan who also plays on my album. Dermot is an amazing violinist and hardanger fiddle player who features among others on the Lord of the Rings Soundtrack, the film was shot in New Zealand, and now I have Alexander too!
It was very exciting to record the double bass for some of my songs, feeling the vibrations of the double base go through my body, the tone has such a richness and depth, I know that it will add a wonderful quality on my songs.
We had a fun day in the studio, here are some pics and a short clip!
See you soon!
In love and light,
