I am currently working on my debut album! All the tracks on my album combine my operatic classical-crossover vocals with a fusion of orchestral, Celtic, ambient and neo-classical elements. My goal for the album is to have 10 tracks, with a nice balance of mid tempo tracks and ballads. I just know you are going to love them!
Out of the 10 tracks, 4 are complete, 4 are in production and I am finalising the last 2 with my favourite pianist Stefano Marzanni.
I have been working with the amazing producer and composer Tom E Morrison. Tom produces breath-taking beautiful music. He composes and produces for international artists, scores for film, TV, Playstation, major corporate brands and theatre (he is currently composing the score for the forthcoming film Viking Destiny). The great thing about working with Tom is, apart from him making me feel so relaxed and confident whilst recording, is that he has allowed me to find my vocal artistry in the studio and this combined with his amazing production skills has elevated my songs to another level!
So I am very excited to announce my big news!
MY BIG NEWS! LORD OF THE RINGS VIOLINIST PLAYS ON MY ALBUM!
So when Tom and I were discussing musicians to use for the album Tom asked me if I would like it if he asked his good friend Dermot Crehan who just happens to be an amazing violinist.
Dermot is an award winning violinist and fiddler and has worked as a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and has extensive experience in the fields of orchestral and operatic music. He has appeared on too many film scores to mention here, but you will recognise his signature sound in none other than the ‘Two Towers’ soundtrack from the ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy! Dermot plays his hardanger fiddle in the famous ‘The Riders of Rohan’ track, so obviously I jumped at the chance that Dermot will play on my album!
The fact that this incredibly talented man is going to be on my album, well I feel like the kid who just got all the candy! I am so very blessed and absolutely honoured that he will be playing on my album.
Being in the studio with Dermot was a dream come true and watching him work truly did bring tears to my eyes. Here are a few pics and a clip of Dermot in action in the studio.
I am so glad you are joining me on my journey, it means the world to me! I look forward to seeing you soon!
In Love and Light, Natasha x
